Krispy Kreme Fundraiser and Future Events!

During our Krispy Kreme fundraiser in November we sold out and raised $134 to be donated to the Downtown Eastside soup kitchen!

Pre-Pharmacy Society 2011/2012

Hi everyone,
Welcome to the Pre-Pharmacy Society 2011/2012!

We had a big turnout for this year's Icebreaker event.

We will be updating this blog with any upcoming events so don't forget to check once in a while.

The upcoming one will be an Organic Chemistry Study Session on Thursday, October 27th, more info will be posted.

Pharmacists' Night

Hi everyone!

The Pre-Pharmacy Society will be having a Pharmacists' Night this coming February 1, 2011 at IBLC 182 (Irving Library) from 6-7:30 PM. We will be bringing in two pharmacy faculty members, Dr. K. Wasan (UBC Professor) and RPH C. Brady (UBC Lecturer), as well as a clinical pharmacist, Dr. Anita Lo, BSc. Pharm, Pharm D, and Dr. Shirin Abadi, BSc Pharm, Pharm D., ACPR (clinical pharmacist), who will be talking about pharmacy Oncology . This will be an opportunity for you to see what else there is in pharmacy. The presenters will talk about traditional roles of both hospital and community pharmacists, emerging roles of pharmacists, medical reconciliation, as well as some of the personal experiences of the pharmacists. The information that you will get from the presentations can be useful for your online application and maybe your interview.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP here.

Please come early so we can start exactly at 6. Also, if you come early (around 5:45), you can get a chance to talk to the presenters themselves. Invite your friends as well. The more the merrier. The room has a capacity of about 150 so please come as early as you can.

Admission is by donation, though not mandatory, for members and non-members. For a minimum donation of $3, you will be eligible for a raffle. We will give away three $10 gift cards and one $5 gift card from Starbucks.
