Fundraiser

Hi everyone!

The Prepharmacy Society wants to give back to the community this winter, so we will be doing a coin drive and a winter clothing drive.

The coin drive will take place in several science classes. We will be doing a short speech at the beginning of class and pass around a jar to collect donations to go towards buying gloves and blankets for the homeless. This will take place the week of November 22. If you want to help us out, you can do the speech with one of the executive members and collecting the donations, or just support us if the coin drive is happening in your class.

The neighbourhood clothing drive will take place around UBC for and old clothing that people would like to donate. We will be picking up clothing on Thursday, November 25. The meeting time is currently set at 4:45 PM, and pickup goes from 5-6 PM. If you would like to participate, you will be doing the pickup with an executive member.

All clothing items from the coin drive and the neighbourhood clothing drive will be donated to the First United Church. The First United Church is situated in the Downtown East Side, and is also a shelter. They also hand out free food and clothing to the homeless that need them.

The Organic Chemistry study session is this Thursday. Our fundraising committee will be selling pizza and pop at the session. You can buy one slice of pizza and one can of pop for $3, or two slices of pizza and one can of pop for $5.

BC Pharmacy Association Lunchtime Lecture

Hi everyone,

The BC Pharmacy Association (BCPhA) is hosting a speaking session on medication management, one of the most anticipated changes in the pharmacy profession. This is also a great opportunity for you to learn more about pharmacy and get to know people in pharmacy and people from the association.

Lunch will be provided at the lecture, so please attend if you have signed up for it. The BCPhA has been putting lots of effort and resources into this lecture, so please show respect by attending the session if you signed up.

Beginning with the Math session, the Prepharmacy Society's fundraising committee will begin selling food. Most of the proceeds (no less than 80%) will go towards charity, so please support the fundraising committee and get yourself a hearty dinner!

A reminder that non-members have to pay $2 to attend the study sessions. Current members can attend for free. If you are looking to become a member, you can come to any of our sessions and we'll set you up with a membership!
